Local in London - How Hard is it to Extend a Visa?

"Hello... Embassy? I was wondering if you could let me stay here for good,

for no extra price please?"

I have never enjoyed a job as much as I enjoyed IPR London. I had learnt so much in my short time there.

My jobs included packing up and sending out clothing to influencers, publications, and stylists, checking inventory, visual merchandising of the showroom, writing media releases, and liaising with clients. Everyone that I worked with encouraged me in every task I completed which made it easy to feel supported.

The second half of my internship was based around preparation for London Fashion Week. This was huge for IPR as we had many of our staff out, and even more work to cover all the press about our brands. I also got to volunteer for a shift at the Fashion's Finest show. We had very general activities such as setting up and packing down, as well as seating guests and liaising with the models. Other than this we got to watch two different shows and sit in on a presentation about influencer marketing which was so insightful!

Throughout this time, I learnt so much about the impact London Fashion Week has on the city. I scrolled through what seemed like hundreds of articles and Instagram accounts learning about the high fashion society in the city. An article on Culture Trip's blog (written in 2019) states that LFW contributed a whopping $41.66 billion to the UK's GDP in 2017, as well as debuting some of the worlds most influential designers and models every year. This alone demonstrates just how important this week is to not only London, but the wider fashion world.

The nights out at Box Park, the friends I had made and all the things I learnt and loved about London were quickly coming to an end. After many celebrations and tears, it was finally my last day at IPR. The office was set up with wine, snacks and all the people who had made my time here so special. It was bittersweet knowing that I had to finish up here, but in my heart I knew that it wouldn't be my last time visiting!

After another long night out, more tears and a touching goodbye to my housemates, it was time to head to the airport. My next stop... Austria!
