There will never be the word I need to describe just how incredible Majorca is.
Nothing is quite as amazing as travelling somewhere you've never been with a local. My gorgeous friend, Tisi, had convinced me to spend my next weekend off in her home town, Palma de Mallorca.
Picture this: three 20 year old girls, in a VW bug with the roof off, Spanish music playing in the background, driving along a cliffside overlooking the ocean. I have never felt happiness quite like this!! There is something so unique and magical about the island that I had never experienced before. Between the beach, the culture, the lovely people and the incredible food, Majorca is one of those places I could easily pack up and move to.
After walking around the other side of the island for a while, it was time to go and visit a view point for sunset. The best bit was that we were there in winter (despite it being 18 degrees and sunny), so there were barely any tourists blocking the beach.
After heading back to the house, we had a quick siesta followed by a delicious pizza and sangria dinner. We were all so happy and loving life despite having barely slept the night before! We then got changed and ready for our night out on the town with some of Tisi's friends who were visiting from Barcelona. Heading out at about 1am, getting free entry into the VIP section of the club, free drinks all night (from a lot of cute European boys), and getting home at 6am has got to be one of the best nights of my life!
3 hours of sleep was just enough for me that morning, by 9am I was ready and waiting to get out into the sun again. By 11am we were in the centre of town, renting bikes for the day. A couple of hours, and 16 kilometres on our bikes later, we sat outside the old church waiting for the sun to go down so we could head back to London. Little did we know that London was not ready for us! Storm Ciara had hit and our flight got cancelled for the night. Some hectic calls to my office and a trip to the airport to rebook our flight for the next day left us more than ready for a good nights sleep.
At 10am the next morning we were off, back to work, and wishing we could have stayed even longer in Majorca.
I can not wait to get back here!
