Persistent Preparation - All Time Anxiety High

Finally! The time has come. After receiving my confirmation email in July that I had been accepted into an overseas internship for fashion and PR, it was time to start writing resumes, applying for jobs, and conducting video interviews. 5 months of long preparation awaited me.

I will never forget the absolute hassle of getting a UK working visa that would never even be checked at the borders. I had to go to different centres, pay way more money than needed, and eventually get my passport back just 2 days before leaving the country!

The thousands of dollars I had put towards the trip, the incessant interviews, and the anxiety was truly making me believe that this trip would never be worth it. I had dreamed of doing a fashion internship for years, nonetheless in one of the worlds biggest fashion capitals, but this was doing my head in.

The moment the day came to leave, I cried all morning. My parents dropped me at the airport and I was on my way. I had luckily been travelling a few times before this so I knew how to get around the airport and onto the plane. People are always so nice at the airport! It's one of my favourite places to be - it feels so safe and clean!

Finally, I hopped onto my 30 hour trip to my first stop - Amsterdam.
